How to Transfer Money From a Bank to a PayPal Account

How to Transfer Money From a Bank to a PayPal Account

PayPal is a service that allows you to send and receive money online. It links to your bank account, allowing you to transfer money you receive from the PayPal account directly to your bank account. In addition, you can retrieve money from your linked bank account to fund your PayPal account for purchasing products online. When you transfer money to your PayPal account, you must wait for the transaction to clear through your bank.

Step 1

Log in to your PayPal account by accessing the PayPal website, entering your PayPal email address and password, and clicking the "Log In" button.

Step 2

Hover your mouse over "Add Funds" and select "Add Funds from Bank Account" from the drop-down list that appears.

Step 3

Click "Add funds from a U.S. Bank Account."

Step 4

Select a bank account from the drop-down list at the top of the screen. The list will show more than one option if you've linked more than one bank account to your PayPal account.

Step 5

Enter a dollar amount in U.S. dollars that you would like to add to your PayPal account. Click "Continue."

Step 6

Click "Submit" on the confirmation page to review your request.

Warnings

  • You may be charged overdraft fees if your PayPal account does not contain enough money to cover a transaction.
