Now that Apple fixed the iOS 8 update that allows health and fitness to tap into its HealthKit platform, the first Health app-enabled offerings are finally arriving in the App Store. ClearSkyApps updated its entire lineup this week with HealthKit integration but 5K Runner is a great starting place for runners of all levels. The latest version of the redesigned app has new motivational messages and more competitive and social features. The $2.99 app is available for iOS; there's also a free version with the first week of training.

With Microsoft finally unveiling its vision for the next version of Windows, and rumors about Apple's upcoming product launch heating up, it was easy to overlook some of this week's best new apps.
