Nextbit Robin, The Cloud-Based Smartphone To Be Launched On 25th May In India!

 

The makers of cloud-based smartphone Robin, Nextbit has sent media invites for a launch event on the 25th of May in India. Earlier, this month, the company made an announcement that regulatory approval had been received by it for selling NextBit Robin smartphones in India.

Previously the company had announced that the launch would happen by April end in India. However, the launch got delayed owing to regulatory approvals. NextBit Robin was launched in the US last year with a price starting from $399. The India pricing is expected to be the same.

Talking about the specifications, Robin smartphone is quite descent on its hardware part and addresses the issue of limited storage of smartphones with cloud-based solution.  One unique feature which is seen in the handset is that photos can be backed up automatically along with other data which hasn't been used recently, to cloud, for freeing up space on the device.

The phone boasts of a 5.2 inch full HD display and powered by a Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor along with 3GB RAM. Talking about the memory, it has an inbuilt storage of 32 GB which cannot be expanded. There is 100 GB of cloud storage space and the device also features a finger print sensor.

Other features include 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera,  USB Type-C charging, 2680 mAh battery etc. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE and other options. Talking about the software, the device would be shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and there are 2 color variants, Midnight and Mint.
