update: Facebook launches a new feature “Safety Check Tab” check it out: share like and comment

In an interesting turn of event, social media giant Facebook has launched a dedicated tab for Safety Check. The company has launched the tab button for its app and desktop version. As of now, the feature is available to a few users. However, it will be available to users across the globe soon. The feature allows users to mark themselves safe if a disaster occurs, letting the loved ones know that you are safe and sound.

Previously the Safety Check option was only activated by the company whenever a calamity occurs but now with this new update, a separate tab has been made for Safety Check, allowing users to seek out help whenever they want. Moreover, the feature also let one view a feed of disasters, updates from friends who marked themselves as safe during a disaster and offers of help.

Facebook said in a post,

"Safety Check helps our community let loved ones know they are safe during a crisis, find and give help, as well as learn more about a crisis. There's now a single place to go to see where Safety Check has recently been activated, get the information you need and potentially be able to help affected areas. We will gradually roll this out in the upcoming weeks starting today."

Apart from the Safety Check tab, Facebook has recently launched a Watch tab for original shows in a bid to earn more revenue. Users from across the globe will be able to access the Watch tab soon. Additionally, the company has also upgraded its translation feature with new Al technology to provide users with best possible translation from one language to another.
