Inter Milan confirm signing of Ashley Young from Manchester United in a £1.5million deal

Italian club, Inter Milan have completed the signing of Ashley Young from Manchester United.

The 34-year-old defender joined for £1.5million and signed a six-month deal with an option to extend with the Serie A club. 

After he passed his medical, the Serie A side announced the deal on Twitter with a bizarre hashtag of #NotForEveryone. 

The left-back, who signed for the Red Devils in 2011, said on Twitter: 'To @ManUtd: you gave me the chance to play with legends, to win trophies, to work under the greatest manager in history and to be your captain. Thank you for letting me be part of your story for eight and a half years.

'To the United fans: every time I walked on the pitch wearing your shirt I gave you my all. Thank you for your support during the highs and the lows. I leave as one of you, see you again in an away end soon.'

The 11 best players of the continent had stellar names like Mo Salah of Egypt and Liverpool, Mahrez of Man.City/Algeria and Saido Mane of Senegal/Liverpool but had no space in the line up for Nigerian players who did well in 2019 like Odion Ighalo, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen.

Other players that made the CAF team of the year include Onana of Ajax, Joel Matip of Liverpool and Pierre Aubameyang of Arsenal.

Senegalese footballer, Sadio Mane has been named the 2019 African Player of the Year after winning the UEFA Champions League with his club Liverpool and leading his country, Senegal to the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Saido Mane defeated his liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah – winner in 2017 and 2018 –  and Algeria attacker Riyad Mahrez to win the 2019 CAF player of the year award that held on Tuesday night in Egypt. 

                

Votes from head coaches/technical directors and captains of the senior national teams from CAF's member associations saw Mane selected as the continent's best footballer in 2019 ahead of his other two rivals who also play in the premier league .

              

Mane helped guide Senegal to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations before ending the 2018-19 season by winning the Champions League and Premier League Golden Boot award.

He then scored twice in the UEFA Super Cup triumph over Chelsea, and provided the assist for Roberto Firmino's goal that won Liverpool the FIFA Club World Cup for the very first time.

She beat Ajara Nchout of Cameroon and Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa to win the award.

In 2019, Oshoala made headlines for Barcelona Femení and became the first African to score in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

She also scored a goal at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup to help Nigeria reach the knockout stages of the tournament .

The deal will commence from June 1, 2020 and allows Nike to supply Kits for the senior men's team, women's side, academy squads, coaching staff and Liverpool FC Foundation. 

Real Madrid (£98m) and Barcelona (£100m) are the only European football teams who will earn more than Liverpool through kit sponsorship. 

Liverpool said in a statement on it's website, Tuesday. 'Liverpool Football Club is delighted to announce Nike, the world's leading footwear and apparel company, as its official kit supplier from the 2020-21 season.

'The partnership coincides with our move into a new, state-of-the-art training facility in Kirkby for the 2020-21 season, a project that includes investment in improved sport facilities for the local community.' 

Liverpool's managing director Billy Hogan added: 'Our iconic kit is a key part of our history and identity. We welcome Nike into the LFC family as our new official kit supplier and expect them to be an incredible partner for the club, both at home and globally as we continue to expand our fanbase.

According to Mail Online Sport, the £30million fee, paid in five installments, could increase by €9million (£7.6m) based on conditions built into the contract, which runs until 2024.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Parma from Atalanta, and has made 19 appearances so far this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. He joined Atalanta in 2016 from Swedish side Brommapojkarna, who will be receiving a per cent of the final fee from Atalanta. 

Earlier this year, the 19-year-old told Sportbladet: 'I like to have the ball at my feet' 

'I used to dribble a lot when I was a kid but I have got better at moving the ball more quickly.

'I have developed my defensive game, that was a weakness before, and that has made me a more complete player.'

Before the game, Aubameyang was filmed by a United supporter who taunted him, saying: 

You're getting no goals tomorrow innit,' the United fan @98DALLA told Aubameyang in a video posted to Twitter.

'No goals, no goals! Absolutely no chance. Phil Jones' pocket, how about that!' 

After the match, an Arsenal fan left a comment on Aubameyang's Instagram post saying: "Your work rate again today was insane. Where’s that Man United fan who was filming you last night? What a great start to the year."

Aubameyang replied saying: "They are sleeping already," followed by laughing emojis.
