Beware, Fake Windows 11 Installers are Spreading Malware

Microsoft's next OS, Windows 11, is all set to roll out later this year officially. However, the preview build is available for download to check the features of the operating system. Before the stable release, the scammers have already taken advantage and are spreading malware.

Hundreds of users have already downloaded the Windows 11 installers and are infected with malware. All these users have installed the installers from unofficial sources, according to Kaspersky security researchers.

Malicious Installers Bundled with Fake Windows Activators

According to the reports by Kaspersky, fake Windows 11 installers are doing rounds that are delivering adware malware. The hackers are offering Windows 11 installer links and promising them to be a Microsoft Insider testing ring that can access the upcoming OS.

Kaspersky said,
"Although Microsoft has made the process of downloading and installing Windows 11 from its official website fairly straightforward, many still visit other sources to download the software, which often contains unadvertised goodies from cybercriminals (and isn't necessarily Windows 11 at all)".

There is one malicious file called 86307_windows 11 build 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe. According to this file name, one can guess that it has Windows 11 build, and there is something that will automatically activate Windows for you.

The file is 1.75GB, and it looks like a normal installer, and there is a second installer that calls a download manager. If you accept the agreement, then you will get a bunch of malware.

This is just one example; there are so many other files available. Windows 11 is available for testing on the Dev channel, and it is malware-free. Microsoft has bumped up the system requirements for Windows 11, like Intel eighth-gen or AMD Zen 2 processor or newer. Because of this, the old PC users are looking for alternatives to install Windows 11 and are ending up with malware.

Malware can be from adware to a Trojan virus. Adware is not dangerous; it just injects your PC with advertisements. But viruses can create more issues, and they can be difficult to remove from the machine.

Kaseya Ransomware Affected 1,500 Businesses, Asked for $70 Million

Kaseya, an enterprise tech firm, is the latest victim of malicious ransomware. The company has confirmed that approximately 1,500 businesses have been impacted by the attack over the Fourth of July weekend, though the attackers are saying they've already impacted over one million computers.

The attackers apparently carried out a supply chain ransomware attack by (naturally) exploiting a previously unknown vulnerability in the company's VSA software against their customers and several managed service providers. VSA is the company's remote monitoring and management software used for managing and updating endpoints (like PCs or cash registers).

"To date, we are aware of fewer than 60 Kaseya customers, all of whom were using the VA on-premises product, who were directly compromised by this attack. While many of these customers provide IT services to multiple other companies, we understand the total impact thus far has been to fewer than 1,500 downstream businesses. We have not found evidence that any of our SaaS customers were compromised," stated Kaseya in an update.

The attack was initially launched on Friday, July 2. Kaseya released a Compromise Detection Tool to customers the next day, which would analyze servers and endpoints to see if indicators of compromise were detected. On Sunday, July 4, the actors asked for $70 million in Bitcoin in exchange for their universal decryption tool. The following day, Kaseya announced a patch for on-premise customers, which should roll out within 24 hours after its SaaS servers go back online.

Over the weekend, Kaseya met with the FBI and the CISA to discuss security measures like systems and network hardening requirements. The company also noted, "A set of requirements will be posted prior to service restart to give our customers time to put these countermeasures in place in anticipation of a return to service on July 6th."

Kaseya's servers remained offline days after the attack, which has impacted notable companies like Coop, a Swedish grocery store franchise with over 800 stores whose cash registers were crashed. Kaseya says it will provide additional attack details and keep customers abreast of security efforts and a full restoration timeline as they move forward.

John McAfee, Creator of McAfee Antivirus, Found Dead in Prison According to Lawyer

John McAfee founded his company in 1987, where it grew to be one of the most recognizable names in antivirus. He later resigned from the company, and which was in turn purchased by Intel. Intel sold its stake several years later. During his time abroad, McAfee announced multiple runs for President through the Libertarian Party.

He also founded several ventures, including biosecurity company QuorumEx. McAfee went on to invest in airports and to recommend cryptocurrency options. That latter bit led to some of his troubles, as prosecutors accused him of pump-and-dump schemes surrounding cryptocurrency.

Spanish police arrested McAfee last October in Barcelona at the request of the United States. Prosecutors allege McAffee did not pay income taxes for years and also accused him of other security fraud violations. McAfee denied all the charges.

While in prison, McAfee fought extradition to the United States, and the Spanish National Court denied that attempt hours before McAfee's death. An appeal was still possible, and any extradition requires the Spanish Cabinet's approval. According to NBC News, guards at the Brians 2 penitentiary where McAfee was being held found him unresponsive, and the jail's medical team certified his death.

"Confirmation has come from our legal team in Spain that John was found dead in his jail cell," said Nishan Sanan, McAfee's lawyer in the United States. "I am saddened to hear of the events and my prayers go out to his wife Janice."

According to the Catalan Justice Department, it's likely McAfee committed suicide. McAfee's lawyer in Spain, Javier Villalba, confirmed the information, telling Reuters, "This is the result of a cruel system that had no reason to keep this man in jail for so long." It's likely that with his death, U.S. prosecutors will drop the charges against McAfee.

What is New In Microsoft’s New Windows 11 OS

With Windows 11, Microsoft has realized Windows should be a powerful desktop operating system. From improved multi-window multitasking and better support for multiple monitors to PC gaming improvements and a Store featuring traditional Win32 desktop apps, Microsoft is embracing the reality of the PC and making it better.

When Will Windows 11 Be Released?

Microsoft says Windows 11 will begin to arrive in the 2021 holiday season in other words, around the end of the year.

"Eligible Windows 10 PCs" will get a free upgrade to Windows 11 starting at the end of 2021 and continuing into 2022 it will be a gradual rollout.

Will My PC Run Windows 11?

However, not all Windows 10 PCs will get Windows 11. While Windows 10 had broad backward compatibility reaching back to Windows 7 PCs, the system requirements for Windows 11 are much more strict. You will need a PC with UEFI firmware that is Secure Boot capable and a version 2.0 TPM module chip, for example. You will also need "a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC)". 32-bit PCs are out of luck, although even many 64-bit PCs won't get the update.

To check if your PC will get Windows 11, download and run Microsoft's PC Health Check app. If you have disabled Secure Boot or the TPM in your PC's UEFI firmware settings, you may need to re-enable it before the tool will say your PC is compatible.

Microsoft says it will continue supporting Windows 10 through October 14, 2025, so you can stay on Windows 10 even if your PC won't get the update.

How to Download the Windows 11 Preview

According to Microsoft, Insider Preview builds of Windows 11 will be available starting sometime in the week of June 28, 2021.

If Microsoft's PC Health Check app says your PC supports the preview, you can get it from Microsoft at that time. You will need to join Microsoft's Windows Insider Program (it's free) to get it. We recommend you avoid installing this on your primary PC, as it will likely be a little unstable.

A New Start Menu, in the Center

Windows 11 has a new, simplified Start menu. Live tiles are gone, replaced with a list of app icons and recent files. Documents you edit in Office apps on other devices even devices that aren't running Windows will appear as recent files here, too, thanks to Microsoft 365.

The taskbar icons including the Start menu have also been moved to the center of the taskbar. Microsoft's Panos Panay said "We put Start at the center it puts you at the center."

The good news is that you can move the icons back to the left side of the taskbar if you like—for now at least.

Powerful Multi-Window and Multi-Monitor Features

Where Windows 8 was all about having one huge application on a big PC monitor, Windows 11 is all about using multiple windows. Microsoft is embracing productivity and improving Snap. There's a "Snap Layouts" feature for quickly arranging apps on your screen. Just mouse-over a window's "Maximize" button and you can easily choose a screen region for it.

Windows will also remember where you place your apps with "Snap Groups." You can quickly click a single taskbar icon to pull up a group of snapped apps. Also, when using Windows 11 on a tablet, windows that are side-by-side will automatically stack on top of each other when you change the device's orientation.

Multiple monitors are getting better, too, with a "new docking and undocking experience." When you unplug a monitor, the windows on the monitor will minimize themselves rather than getting in the way. When you reconnect the monitor, Windows will automatically restore the windows to their original positions on that monitor.

Faster Updates, and One Big Update a Year

Microsoft says Windows 11 will be better about updates. Updates will be 40% smaller, and they will happen in the background kind of like a Chromebook.

Even better, Microsoft is shifting to a one-big-update-a-year schedule. With Windows 10, Microsoft pushed two big updates a year, a process that led to some huge bugs and just general disruptions while you sit waiting for your PC to update before you can use it.

Microsoft is now aligning its schedule with other operating systems like Google's Android, Apple's macOS, and Apple's iOS and iPadOS all of which get one big update per year, not two.

A New Store With Desktop Apps

With Windows 11's new Microsoft Store, Microsoft is finally doing what it should have done when it launched Windows 8 with the first Windows Store.

The new Store will be "your single trusted location for apps." Developers can offer traditional Win32 desktop applications in the Store alongside Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps and Progress Web App (PWA) apps. Apps can be in any other app framework that works on Windows, too.

Microsoft will let developers use their own commerce functions in these apps and keep 100% of the revenue. In other words, Valve could distribute Steam via the Microsoft Store and not have to pay Microsoft an extra penny.

Imagine getting every application you use from Google Chrome to Steam from the Store, making it faster to install all the apps you use. Each app wouldn't need its own unique updater slowing down your PC. That's what Microsoft could have given us with Windows 8, of course, but it could finally be happening with Windows 11. Nine years late is better than nothing.

The Store has been redesigned, too. It also has TV shows and movies. But, more importantly, Microsoft says it's been rebuilt for speed in other words, even Microsoft agrees the old Store was too slow.

Android Apps Come to Windows 11

Microsoft was working on Android app support before the release of Windows 10, but the company axed the project. Now, Android app support will come to Windows 11.

What changed? Well, Apple did enable iPhone apps on the Mac with Big Sur, so perhaps that changed Microsoft's mind.

You'll be able to get Android apps through the Microsoft Store and run them on your PC. Microsoft is doing this in partnership with the Amazon Appstore, although the apps will be distributed through the standard Microsoft Store app. Microsoft says it's using "Intel Bridge Technology" to enable this.

Widgets and Teams on the Taskbar

The taskbar also features a Widgets button. In the leaked version of Windows 11, it was underwhelming just a renamed version of the News & Interests widget that was added to Windows 10.

In the final version of Windows 11, you'll be able to add widgets from other applications to it, making it a truly customizable interface and not just a panel for Microsoft to push Bing news links at you.

Microsoft is also integrating Microsoft Teams into the taskbar. You can use the Chat feature to have text conversations and video calls with people. Microsoft Teams is widely known as a business communication tool, but Microsoft wants to expand it to everyone likely because Skype is not doing very well under Microsoft's ownership.

PC Gaming Improvements

Microsoft talked up some gaming features that already exist, like DirectX 12 Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC, which offers unlimited access to a library of PC games for a monthly fee.

But there are some new things here. Two features from the Xbox Series X are making their way to PC.

The first is Auto HDR, which will help "over 1000" previous-generation games look better by automatically enabling HDR. Without this feature, only games built to support HDR would use HDR on an HDR-compatible display. Microsoft showed it off in Skyrim, where it made the colors much more vivid and vibrant.

The second is DirectStorage. Some Windows 11 PCs will be "DirectStorage Optimized"—they will need a high-performance NVMe SSD and appropriate drivers. On these PCs, games can quickly load data from system storage directly to the graphics card without taxing the CPU. Like in Xbox, it should speed up game load times and make faster loading of assets during gameplay possible.

A Smart Upgrade

Windows 11 seems pretty good so far! It's full of other smart changes, too. For example, Cortana is being removed from the PC setup experience, something that will no doubt please many system administrators.

When our biggest complaint is that we're not sure we want the Start button in the middle of the taskbar something you can change in a few clicks—that's pretty impressive.

The Double Decker Bus is Goin’ Electric and Cruisin’ in U.S.

In the United State when it comes to buses, you'll find two rare varieties in the U.S. Electric buses and double-decker buses. Now bus-manufacturing company NFI wants to tackle both. At the same time. In a single bus. That's right, a double-decker EV bus is coming to the U.S.

Considering the number of low overpasses in the U.S., it's likely that you won't find the NFI-made bus roaming just any streets of the United States. Still, some places support them, and not just the "see the star!" tourist buses. And if NFI follows through with all the promises made through one of its subsidiaries, Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL), it should be quite a sight to behold. NFI

The Enviro500EV CHARGE (what a name) promises to transport up to 82 passengers, including 53 on the upper deck. The bus will have panoramic views, reclined seating, overhead reading lights and air vents, low-floor entry, USB ports, and Wi-Fi and multimedia capability. Naturally, a large bus calls for an equally large battery, and at 648 kWh, the Enviro500EV CHARGE doesn't disappoint.

"The Alexander Dennis Enviro family is the world's best-selling double deck bus of which over 18,000 have been sold around the globe," Paul Davies, ADL President and Managing Director, said. "Today we add a milestone as we unveil our first ever battery electric, three-axle, high-capacity double deck bus. We are very excited by the positive feedback already received from transit agencies who have trialed this vehicle and look forward to delivering zero-emission service with our double decks across North America."

The Enviro500 EV CHARGE is Buy America-compliant, and Altoona testing is scheduled to start later this year.

There are lots of AdWords consultants out there. How do you hire the best one?

For businesses to grow, it is almost essential to hire a Google AdWords consultant. Google remains the go-to search engine for billions of people around the world. Appearing at or near the top of search results for people looking for what you sell is vital to stay on top of your game.  Hiring a Google AdWords consultant enables you to pick up leads while you run your business. They key is to find a consultant that can get to know your business then apply their expertise to turn that into good campaign ads and copy.

Once you have made the decision to go ahead and hire a Google AdWords consultant, you need to define your approach to recruitment and campaigns. Set out with your agency what you are trying to achieve with your campaigns. Is it lead generation, or brand awareness? Give your chosen agency the time to find the best formula that gives your firm what it needs from Ads.

Recruiting and briefing your AdWords management agency

Spending a little time to find and onboard the right AdWords campaign management is an essential step to getting your business in front of the right potential buyers.  By investing a little time, you can be assured you have made the right choice and that your chosen agency will deliver. Once you have a trusted relationship with your agency you know you can rely on them to configure the right campaigns and content to interest your audience.  Having this relationship established will mean you can all agree on timelines and deliverables. AdWords do not achieve success overnight, and some experimentation will be needed to optimize your keywords and other campaign elements.

Prepare a tight brief

Be clear on what it is you are asking your AdWords consultant to deliver. An agency is only as good as its brief, and it is your responsibility to be as clear as possible. Define what you are looking for your agency to deliver.  Is the focus of your campaign on leads, impressions, or brand awareness? The agency will need to know what they are trying to deliver. It is also important to agree what the agency will need from you to get up and running, and for their ongoing work. How often will they provide you with updates and metrics reviews?  Being realistic about your expectations with your budget is also important. Google AdWords consultants are good at what they do, but they are not miracle workers. Identify your objectives and then be patient about getting results. Striking the right balance between the number and quality of leads is vital.  Once your AdWords campaigns have had time to bed in, you will find that they will deliver great results. The quality of leads from people searching for what you offer is almost always better than you will obtain from other digital marketing channels.

How will your AdWords consultant add value?

Helping you decide on your strategy is the first value your agency will add. After that when the campaigns are up and running, they will be able to monitor and tweak the campaigns as they progress. Keeping an eye on your stats and keywords is vital, and a quick tweak here or there to capitalize on a good keyword or protect you from a bad keyword is vital.  While it may be tempting to run AdWords campaigns yourself to save money on an outside AdWords service, it is difficult to get up to speed with the technicalities. Specialist agencies have these skills in abundance, which leaves you free to run your business and follow up the leads that will be coming in.  Agencies will also be able to ready your other digital marketing elements to optimize your AdWords campaigns. Small tweaks to landing pages, ad copy and titles and even images can make all the difference. A good agency will also help you establish consistency across all your campaigns which is an important success factor.

Key questions to ask your agency

Talk your agency through this plan and ask if they are comfortable with it. Be clear about your budget with them and explain that you are in it for the long-haul to establish your firm's digital presence. This will allow the agency to plan and optimize your campaigns without the pressure to deliver instant results.  Making sure you hire an agency you can work and partner with is vital to the success of your campaigns.

Huawei Returns with With a Powerhouse Phone, Watch, and New OS

Starting today, Huawei is back with the first rollout of its new HarmonyOS 2, as it looks to leave Android and those troubles behind. During a 2-hour long product launch demo, the company showcased several new products, new software for its phones, and much more.

For starters, HarmonyOS is a fork of Android but does not have any Google apps or services. It's Huawei's replacement for the old software. From what we understand, HarmonyOS 2 will initially arrive for all recent flagship Huawei smartphones. These include the Mate 40, P40, and Mate 30 series, the NOVA 6+ series, M6 tablets, along with the upcoming Huawei P50 later this year, then slowly roll out to older devices at a later date.

Then, if all goes according to plan, older phones and product lines such as the Mate 9, Mate 10, P10, P20, Nova 5, and more will get the HarmonyOS 2 update early next year. That's certainly good news for current smartphone owners.

It looks like the overall "HarmonyOS" for phones and tablets is a version of Android, while Huawei's watch, TV, and connected devices version of HarmonyOS is based on Huawei's LiteOS.

Huawei Returns with With a Powerhouse Phone, Watch, and New OS

Huawei Watch 3 & Watch 3 Pro

Huawei hasn't released an all-new smartwatch in nearly four years, so this newest edition is pretty exciting. Called the Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro, these two smartwatches certainly look good, but we'll have to wait for more information.

The company originally used Google's Wear OS for watches, then Huawei's own LiteOS, and now it looks like these will run on a modified version of its all-new HarmonyOS.

The Watch 3 has a circular 1.43-inch OLED screen, 60Hz refresh rate, gets plenty bright, and has a rotating digital crown similar to the Apple Watch. Even with the new software, the Watch 3 offers all the same features as its older devices. Then, new goodies include a redesigned home screen that looks similar to Apple's WatchOS, and there's support for video calling through Huawei's own MeeTime service.

Additionally, you can look forward to a high-end titanium Huawei Watch 3 Pro with 4G built-in, using an eSIM. The Pro model has a bigger battery which offers up to five days of battery life with 4G turned on and up to 21 days without 4G.

The Huawei Watch 3 will cost £349.99 in the UK come June 18th, while the Pro model arrives for £499.99 on June 28th.

Huawei P50 Series

In the middle of the HarmonyOS live stream, Huawei took a moment to show off its powerhouse new smartphone that's on the way. Of course, this is the upcoming Huawei P50, and unfortunately, the company didn't give us much to go on.

We can clearly see two huge camera bumps housing at least four camera modules, with that lower circle likely a periscope zoom lens to take on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The company claims it will "lift mobile photography to a new level." We even see "Leica" camera branding on the back, suggesting some type of camera lens partnership. In closing, Huawei mentioned this phone will feature an iconic and lightweight design, but that's all we know thus far.

Either way, Huawei is back with a revamped operating system, a sleek new smartwatch, and a new phone coming soon. That said, we'll have to wait and see how app compatibility and development pans out for the watch and phone.

I have to Pay to use social media? I guess most of you will be surprised to hear that, just know that you are not alone. That might seem crazy, but that’s the idea of “Twitter Blue.

I have to Pay to use social media? I guess most of you will be surprised to hear that, just know that you are not alone. That might seem crazy, but that's the idea of "Twitter Blue." For $3 per month, you get additional features that aren't available to free users. Is it really worth it? Let's find out.

Twitter is a unique social network. It's certainly not as popular as Facebook, but the people who do use Twitter tend to be highly engaged. Twitter Blue is a way for these "power users" to get even more features.

What Do You Get With Twitter Blue?

Twitter Blue includes a handful of features that are designed to "add enhanced and complementary features" to the existing Twitter experience. Let's go over them one by one.

Bookmarks Folder

Twitter has a feature called "Bookmarks" that lets you save tweets. For free users, all your saved tweets are in one place and are not searchable. Twitter Blue adds folders to Bookmarks.

It works exactly how you would expect. You can easily create folders on the Bookmarks page, and when you save a tweet, you can choose which folder it goes in. Folders are color-coded and have custom names. There's also still an "All Bookmarks" folder to see them in one place.

Undo Tweet

If you've used Twitter, you know the pain of sending a tweet and then immediately noticing a typo. The only way to fix this for free users is to delete the tweet and sending a new one. Twitter Blue adds an "Undo" button.

After you send a tweet, you'll get a few seconds to tap an "Undo" button before it goes live. The timer is customizable and can be set up to 30-seconds. It's essentially just a way to preview your tweet before it's sent off to your followers.

Unfortunately, this is only a middle ground for those who want to edit sent tweets. Once a tweet has been shared with your followers, you will have to delete the message and type it out without errors. The Undo button won't save a typo after the fact.

Reader Mode

It's very common for Twitter users to create long "threads" when they have a lot to say. Reading these threads can be cumbersome, so Twitter Blue has a "Reader Mode" feature.

Reader Mode strips away a lot of the Twitter UI to make threads read more like an article. Profile photos, usernames, timestamps, and live/retweet counts are removed from the threaded tweets to make it look more seamless.

Twitter Support & Color Themes

Twitter Blue subscribers get access to dedicated customer support. This means they should be able to get problems resolved much quicker than free users, but it does not apply to abuse or harassment reports.

The last benefit is color themes and custom icons. Similar to how Twitter profiles can be customized on the web, Blue subscribers get additional theme options. They can also change the color of the Twitter app icon on their iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Does Twitter Blue Let You Edit Tweets?

This is one of the biggest questions when it comes to Twitter Blue. People have been asking Twitter for the ability to edit tweets for years. As we alluded to above, Twitter Blue kinda has this in the form of the Undo button.

The Undo experience is really just holding your tweet back for a short time so you can catch a mistake before it's sent. It's definitely not what people have been asking for, but it should mostly work. You just have to make sure to catch your mistakes quickly.

How to Sign Up for Twitter Blue

You can sign up for Twitter Blue in the Twitter app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Tap the three-line hamburger menu icon in the top-left corner and look for "Twitter Blue" in the slide-out menu.

Twitter Blue Pricing & Availability

Twitter Blue costs $3 USD per month. That roughly equates to $3.49 in Canada and $4.49 in Australia. There is only one subscription option and no additional tiers. Twitter Blue launched in Canada and Australia on June 3, 2021. At the time of writing, Twitter has not shared a release timeline for the U.S.

The free version of Twitter that people have been using for over a decade isn't going anywhere. Twitter also hasn't taken away any of the free features and suddenly put them behind a paywall. All of the features included with Twitter Blue are new.

Check Out Android 12 Releasing Dates

Google has finally released the first Android 12 beta at Google I/O 2021, after three developer previews. In fact, the first beta build is now available on Pixels, as well as devices from a few other manufacturers.

Android 12 is already shaping up to be one of the most significant updates to the platform in years. Google is focusing on two main pillars with Android 12: personalization and privacy. The former is something Google's version of Android has never adopted as a headline feature.

The question every android user is asking is when should we expect it to launch? Well, going forward, we can expect at least three more beta releases. The Android 12 release date should be easy enough to ascertain around the launch of the third or fourth beta.

So far, so good this is what has been officially launched:

  1. February 18, 2021: Android 12 Developer Preview 1
  2. March 3, 2021: Android 12 Developer Preview 1.1
  3. March 17, 2021: Android 12 Developer Preview 2
  4. April 7, 2021: Android 12 Developer Preview 2.2
  5. April 21, 2021: Android 12 Developer Preview 3
  6. May 18, 2021: Android 12 Beta 1

For the record, last year for the Android 11 launch, Google had the first beta out in June and the final launch in early September. It is highly likely we'll see a very similar schedule this year.

In the meantime, check out what we know so far in the next section.

Android 12 Timeline

According to the most recent information, Google plans to launch monthly updates for Android 12. We can expect the second beta in June. Beta versions of the software are good enough for consumer use, but caution line should always be drawn.

After four beta launches, the Android 12 release date will be easy to narrow down. Depending on how development goes, it could be in the middle or end of August. It could also be early September.

New leaks suggest Google is preparing to introduce an all-new Pixel 6 and a bigger Pixel 6 Pro.

New leaks suggest Google is preparing to introduce an all-new Pixel 6 and a bigger Pixel 6 Pro. This week, our first look at the "Pro" emerged from a trusted source, teasing a massive high-end device ready to rival the competition come late August.

It's important to remember that these are purely device renders and in no way official, but the leakster @Onleaks has an excellent track record, especially with Pixel devices.

These renders show a unique design completely different from any prior Google phones. And aside from the obvious orange accent color, the Pixel 6 Pro packs a huge 6.67-inch curved display and could be the biggest Pixel phone yet.

The display is expected to use an OLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but there's no report on if Google will offer a high refresh rate. Then, like most phones lately, it'll house the front-facing camera inside the screen, at the top center of the phone.

Earlier reports hint that Google will use its own in-house processor, similar to Apple's approach, rather than a typical Qualcomm chipset. However, we'll have to wait and see.

While the back camera array is reminiscent of the Nexus 6P, this is Google's most ambitious design yet. More importantly, Google might finally offer triple rear cameras. Those being the main camera, ultra-wide, and a new periscope-style zoom lens like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Basically, Google will finally match the competition with wide and telephoto cameras.

The smaller Pixel 6 (of unknown size) may only offer dual rear cameras, while Google reserves triple cameras and a bigger screen for the Pro.

We're unsure if Google will call this the 'Pixel 6 Pro' or stick to its Pixel 6 XL naming scheme. What we do know, though, is that Google's definitely aiming for a unique design, all while going big for the Pixel 6 lineup thanks to upgrades to the camera, display, and design.

In closing, earlier reports hint at three color options: Arctic Blue, Sorta Orange, and Mostly Gray. Finally, we may see a Pixel 6 release date around August 26th.

Samsung’s cheap new iPad alternative is coming soon if the latest leaks are to be believed, and it’ll be a decent little tablet for those on a budget.

Samsung's cheap new iPad alternative is coming soon if the latest leaks are to be believed, and it'll be a decent little tablet for those on a budget. We're talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, and odd name aside here's what we know so far.

Both the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and this A7 Lite are on the way as affordable options, but the cheaper model that'll pique your interest is the A7 Lite. An extensive leak detailed on Twitter confirmed the screen size, specs, options, and potential pricing.

It looks like Samsung will deliver an 8.6-inch screen, although it'll only be 1340 x 800, and not 1080p. Earlier reports stated 8.4-inches, so we'll have to wait and see. The tablet may feature a low-end MediaTek Helio 8-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, although it still has a MicroSD slot for storage expansion.

The leak suggests the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite runs on a 5,100 mAh battery with fast charging, comes in two colors with an aluminum design, not to mention stereo speakers, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back. Basically, a good-sized budget tablet running Android 11, with an update to Android 12 coming later.

According to the leakster, expect a retail price of around €150 in Europe for the WIFI variant, with the LTE model costing a little more. Pricing in the US often varies, but this points to a price under $189.

As a reminder, earlier this month, Google confirmed some changes as they try to make Android tablets great again, which makes Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A7 Lite even more tempting. We'll report back once it's officially announced and available to buy.
