How To Make The Most Of Animated GIFs On Twitter?

Twitter has introduced another feature - support for animated GIFs - something that has been sadly missing from social media. Facebook doesn't support animated GIFs as yet, which gives marketers on Twitter one more trick up their sleeves.
Twitter introduces animated GIFs
Twitter timelines used to be woefully color-devoid up until only a few months ago when they finally decided to allow users to add images to tweets. A welcome change, no doubt. Taking one step further, Twitter has introduced another feature - support for animated GIFs - something that has been sadly absent from social media. Facebook doesn't support animated GIFs as yet, which gives marketers on Twitter one more trick up their sleeves.

You can view (and share) animated GIFs not only on the Twitter website, but also on Twitter's Android and iOS apps. The feature was announced by Twitter's support team (@Support) in a tweet.
The Tweet included an animated GIF as well. You can view it by clicking on the Tweet above.

Previously, if you wanted to share a GIF on Twitter, you had to upload it to a third-party (like Imgur) and then share the link. Starting today you can upload and view them directly on Twitter.

GIFs won’t animate automatically in your feed like they do on Tumblr, for example. When a GIF is shown there will be an overlay of a white play button, simply click on the GIF to play it right in your feed.

What this means for your business?

If you run a blog, or a small business, and advertise it through social media channels, then the ability to tweet animated GIFs presents new opportunities for you.

Animated GIFs stand out from the rest of the content just like images. But GIFs can do more than images can - GIFs stand out from the rest of the images as well. Twitter is no different. GIFs stand out in the Twitter feed just like images. Scientifically, moving things catch your attention much more quickly. Hence, these GIFs can capture the attention of your audience and communicate your message in a quick and easy way.

GIFs are like videos, but only shorter, smaller and lighter. If you have used videos to market your content, whether on your blog or on YouTube, then consider creating a short GIF that explains your business process(es), or come up with a whole new idea to gather your audience's attention.

GIFs can communicate emotions. If you have spent some time on Reddit, you know how GIFs can be used to convey the emotions behind a situation. It's much more difficult to capture an emotion in 140 characters. But animated GIFs with your tweets can now makes it easier than ever.

Adding a GIF to Twitter works just like uploading any other kind of image, so there’s nothing new to learn when it comes to using them.

Have you ever used a GIF to market your content? How was your experience, and how was the audience response? We'd love to hear from you. Cheers :)

How To Recover Apple Password After Misplacing Password

Forgetting things is normal, its really hard to keep everything in mind, and when it comes to things like password especially when it contains alphanumeric and special characters it may be pretty hard to remember, the question is “How To Recover Apple Password After Misplacing Password“.

It’s not advisable to use passwords which can be easily guessed. And when it comes to Apple devices (Mac), because of the cost and standard, most people will like to use a very strong password to prevent other users and hackers to gain access. Now what happens when you forget or misplace your Mac password?
On this post you will see the different methods of regaining full access to your Mac device without the help of an expert after you have forgotten your password.

How To Recover Apple Password After Misplacing Password

1. Make use of Apple ID Credentials

To use this method you must meet two requirements:
First, you must have linked your Mac device to your Apple account, which means you must have an Apple account linked to your Mac.
Second, “FileVault Disk Encryption” must not be enabled on your device. This use by Apple to prevent unauthorized access to Mac devices.
If you met both requirements, then you can use this method then follow me on this method.
After inputting your incorrect password into your Mac device for a couple of times you will receive a pop-up notice saying that “You Can Reset The Password Using Apple ID“, click on the button, it will take you to a section where you will provide your Apple ID credentials.
After which, you will regain full access to your Mac device and provide a new password to continue.
For those who have enable FileVault Disk Encryption but have not linked Mac device to Apple ID, on the process of enabling FileVault Disk Encryption you should see an option to store key in iCloud, only if you enabled the option then you will be able to this method.

2. Use Another Mac User Account

This method is contrary to the first method, this is because you will have to enable FileVault Encryption and also, you need to have more than a user accounts in your Mac device. Now that you cant remember your password, simply login with another user account.
Once logged in, given that there are necessary permissions, you can easily gain access to the other user profile, from the settings there, you can simply reset the password of the other user account or even create new user account, and delete the other one.

3. FileVault Disc Encryption Recovery Key

This method is specifically for those who must have enabled FileVault Encryption in their your Mac device, but yet to store its “Recovery Key” in iCloud. In a case of this nature, you cannot use Apple ID to gain access to your Mac device. But while setting up FileVault Encryption, after you did enable FileVault Encryption, the Mac had shown you a 24 letter “Recovery Key“, did you keep it safe?
The recovery key is just like a master password which can let you gain unlimited access to your Mac device. After misplacing your password go and copy your recovery key from wherever you saved it and login with it as your password. Once logged in then you will gain access and change your forgotten password to a new one.
Note: whoever have access to your recovery key can access your Mac device as a super admin to perform anything possible.

4. Use Mac OS X Recovery Mode

You can also use this method only when FileVault Encryption is not be enabled, also you mustn’t have activated UEFI password on your device, if you have activated UEFI password then you will have to provide the UEFI before getting to recovery mode. Note that UEFI password is different from the user account password, and if you misplace your UEFI password then you must go to Apple stores to get it back.
To regain access to your device in this method, you will have to put your Mac device into the Mac Recovery Mode. To do this, simply reboot your Mac, while rebooting, press and hold down “Command” key + “R” key. Instead of your Mac to show your login screen, it will open the “OS X Recovery Mode” of your device. On the screen you will see an option telling you to reset the password of your user account, then select the disc partition that consists of user details. After selecting, you can now enter a new password for the user to gain access back.

5. Another Mac OS X

On this method you will have to reinstall Mac OS X, but note, you will lose all your files doing this. It can be done via the Mac Recovery Mode, also note that if you have enabled UEFI password you will need to provide it before you can undergo this process. For those using outdated Mac version, you may want to use the traditional methods of re-installation, this is because you will not find re-installation on recovery mode.

Conclusion

And that is it any method you decide to use is up to you, they all can achieve the same aim. It is very common to misplace phone passwords but be ready to go through the rigorous process of password recovery anytime you fall a victim. Good thing is that using Gearbest coupon codes, you can good refurbished and unlocked Apple devices online at great prices. If you know any Apple password recovery method that is not listed here, let us know in the comment section.

Being able to unlock your iPhone with Face ID is great, until you’re wearing a mask.

Being able to unlock your iPhone with Face ID is great, until you’re wearing a mask. Apple recognizes this, and in beta software released today, it makes it a little easier to skip the Face ID display and enter your passcode, CNBC reports.
At the moment, there is a slight delay between your phone realizing that it can’t see your face and offering the screen to enter a passcode. To avoid that, you either have to remove your mask or turn off Face ID. But in the most recent iOS 13.5 beta, Apple lets users swipe up to enter a passcode and skip the delay. Some Twitter users report that if your phone detects you’re wearing a mask, it will automatically jump to the passcode screen.
Since this is still in beta, it may be a few weeks before the feature is made widely available. When it arrives, it should make accessing your phone while you’re wearing a mask a little easier and quicker. Though, what we really would have liked is new technology that helps your phone recognize you even with a mask on, without reducing security.

Apple has agreed to pay $18 million to settle a case accusing the company of intentionally breaking FaceTime on iOS 6.

Apple has agreed to pay $18 million to settle a case accusing the company of intentionally breaking FaceTime on iOS 6. The class-action lawsuit, which was filed in 2017, argued that the tech giant disabled the video-calling application on the iPhone 4 and 4S as a cost-saving measure.
See, Apple uses peer-to-peer direct connection and another method that relies on third-party servers for FaceTime calls. However, due to a patent dispute involving the peer-to-peer method with VirnetX, the tech giant had to rely more on third-party servers, costing it millions of dollars. Apple eventually released new peer-to-peer tech with iOS 7, and the plaintiffs claimed that the company broke the app on purpose, forcing users to upgrade their platforms.
According to AppleInsider, an Apple engineering manager said in an email chain:
"Hey, guys. I'm looking at the Akamai contract for next year. I understand we did something in April around iOS 6 to reduce relay utilization. It was a big user of relay bandwidth. We broke iOS 6, and the only way to get FaceTime working again is to upgrade to iOS 7."
While Apple will pay $18 million to settle, none of the plaintiffs are getting massive payout — or much of a payout at all. Each class action member is only getting $3 per affected device, and that amount will only increase if some of them choose not to claim their checks.

This New Text Bug Crashes iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches

A new text-bomb is crashing iOS and macOS devices. The string of text, which contains Italian flag emojis and Sindhi-language characters, works through device notifications, text messages, social media posts, and websites.

Upcoming Apple Products Guide: Everything We Expect to See in 2020 ...

If you want to avoid the text-bomb, you should turn off device notifications and avoid social media until Apple sends out a fix. Encountering the bug will not brick your device, but it will crash the iOS Springboard or macOS Launchpad. In some instances, the problem resolves itself, but you may need to forcibly reboot your device to get back to the home screen.

To forcibly reboot an iPhone or iPad, hold down the volume and power keys for ten seconds. On an Apple Watch, you need to hold down the power button and Digital Crown for ten seconds to force a reboot. And you already know how to power down a Mac, right? Just hold down the power key.Text-bombs exploit some kind of vulnerability in Apple’s Springboard and Launchpad—the software that manages apps on iOS and Mac devices. It’s possible that emoji and Arabic-based characters, which are encoded using long strings of Unicode, can overwhelm Apple’s launching software when strung together in unusual, intentionally exploitative fashions.

According to MacRumors, phones on the newest iOS 13.4.5 beta are immune. Apple may push the beta update to regular users this week, or write out a quick patch to resolve today’s text bug.

Best iPhone 11 Tips and Tricks

The iPhone 11 is now available. And at $699, it’s the best iPhone for most people. The ultra wide camera and the new night mode makes things a lot better. If you’ve just picked up the new iPhone 11, take a look at our tips and tricks below.

Top iPhone 11 Tips and Tricks

1. Coming From An Older iPhone? Learn About The New Gestures

If the iPhone 11 is your first iPhone without the Home button, you’ll need to spend some time getting used to the new gestures. But they’re quite easy to pick up and in no time, you’ll be like “Home button? Who?”.

2. Use The New Direct Transfer Method

If you’re using an iPhone with iOS 12.4 and higher, you can use the new direct transfer method for setting up your iPhone. When you come to the Transfer Your Data screen, tap on the Transfer From iPhone option to transfer the data wirelessly from your old iPhone.
This transfer happens on a device-to-device basis and doesn’t involve iCloud. So the transfer will be faster and you’ll find all your apps and photos in the same state.

3. Enable The Dark Mode in iOS 13

iOS 13 Turn On Dark Mode
You’re going to love the new dark mode in iOS 13. It instantly flips the color scheme, giving you a true back background and white text. Not only is it easy on the eyes, but it also helps with the battery life.
To toggle dark mode, open Control Center, and tap and hold on the Brightness bar. In the bottom-left corner, you’ll see a new Dark Mode toggle. Tap on it to switch to the Dark mode.

4. Learn About Haptic Touch

Apple has removed the 3D Touch feature from the new iPhones. It’s now replaced by Haptic Touch. This means that you simply tap and hold on an object to reveal a contextual menu. Previously, you’d have to press harder on the screen.
This means that there’s a new way to rearrange apps. And previews work differently in Safari. But overall, this is a welcome change. Just try to tap and hold on an menu, link or app icon for more info.

5. Switch To Ultra Wide Camera

Tap on the 0.5x button to quickly switch to the ultra-wide sensor.

6. Get A Fast Charger

Apple's 29W USB‑C Power Adapter
The new iPhone 11 Pro ships with an 18W charger in the box. Sadly, the iPhone 11 does now. If you use your iPhone a lot, you’ll want to get a fast charger.
There are multiple ways to do this. The cheapest way might be to use the iPad’s 12W power adapter. It will charge your iPhone up to twice as fast. And if you’ve already got an iPhone, you don’t need to shell out any extra cash either.
If you want to do this properly though, you need to buy two things: Apple’s 29W USB-C power adapter ($49) and Apple’s USB-C to lighting connector ($29). But that can be quite an expensive combo. You can use a third-party adapter and a cable, as long as it’s rated for USB Power Delivery.
We recommend you check out Anker 30W USB-C Wall Charger (at $20, it’s less than half the price of Apple’s official adapter).

7. Use Any Zoom Level

While the buttons give you a precise zoom level, you can also use a zoom level. The cameras will switch seamlessly in the background. Just swipe on the zoom level buttons to reveal and dial. Swipe on it to change the zoom level.

8. Record Videos in 4K From Any Rear Sensor

Go to Settings -> Camera -> Record Video and switch to 4K.

9. Record 4K Video From Selfie Camera

From the same settings screen, you can change the resolution for the front-facing camera to 4K as well.

10. Take a Slofie

Switch to the front-facing camera and swipe over to the new Slo-mo option to start taking a slow-motion video from the front-facing camera. Or as Apple calls it, a slofie.

11. Zoom Out To Ultra Wide Camera During Editing

When you take a photo, the iPhone 11 captures the shot from both the wide and the ultra-wide sensor. And it keeps the ultra-wide photo around for a while. So you can go into the editing screen and zoom out to add details that were captured from the ultra-wide photo later on.

12. Use The Night Mode

Apple finally has a night mode in an iPhone camera and it’s actually better than what Pixel 3 has to offer!
While Pixel 3 takes very dramatic night mode shots, it compromises on details. The iPhone 11, in typical iPhone fashion, takes more natural-looking night time shots that are filled with details, even when it’s night time.
The night mode feature works automatically and there’s no button for it in the UI. It will come on automatically when the Camera app detects that you’re in a low-light situation.
While Night Mode is great, it doesn’t work with the ultra-wide sensor.

13. Use The New QuickTake Feature

This is a new feature in the Camera app that will ship in a few weeks after the iPhone 11 release.
You can now tap and hold on the shutter button to instantly start shooting a video, similar to how it works in Snapchat. The video will stay in the same frame and shot as the photo, which is very impressive.
If you want to keep recording the video for a longer time, you can swipe right on the shutter to lock it into video recording mode.

14. Take Burst Mode Photos

To take photos in burst mode, you now tap on the shutter button and swipe left.

15. Change Filter Intensity

When you go into the editing mode for a photo, you’ll now be able to set the filter intensity after selecting a new filter.

16. Crop and Rotate 4K Video

Tap on the edit button on a video and you’ll find new options to quickly rotate or crop a video that you took on your iPhone 11. You can also apply photo editing touches like changing the exposure and more.

17. Use The New Text Editing Gestures

Apple is also taking text selection seriously. You can now just tap and hold on the cursor to pick it up and instantly move it around.
Text selection is way easier now. Just tap on a word and instantly swipe to where you want to select, like the end of the paragraph. iOS will select all the text in between the two points.
Once the text is selected, you can use gestures to copy it. Just pinch in with three fingers to copy, pinch out with three fingers to paste and swipe back with three fingers to undo typing or action.
We’ve written more about the text editing gestures in detail in our previous guide.

18. Use Face ID From More Angles

Face ID in the new iPhone 11 series is 30% faster. And it works on greater angles. So even if your iPhone is not exactly in front of your face, Face ID will now unlock your phone for you.

19. Try Gesture Typing

iPhone 11 ships with a huge improvement to the keyboard. You can now just swipe your finger on the letters on the keyboard to form words. This is similar to how the SwiftKey and Gboard app works.

20. Get The Home Button Back

iPhone X AssistiveTouch Home button
If you’ve come from an iPhone 7 or iPhone 8, you might be missing the Home button. While you can’t get a physical Home button back, there is a way to use a software Home button on the iPhone 11 using an Accessibility feature.
Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> AssistiveTouch and define shortcuts for single tap, double-tap, long press and 3D Touch for the AssistiveTouch button. For Single touch, define it to go Home. You can use define other gestures features to define features you find difficult to access.

21. Buy a Lighting To Headphone Adapter

You might have noticed already, that your shiny new iPhone came without a Lighting to 3.5mm headphone adapter. Apple has bundled one on new iPhones since iPhone 7 but now, that’s no longer the case. If you’ve already got AirPods or you use Apple’s EarPods anyway, you might not need the adapter.
But for most people, it’s good to have, as a backup. You might need it in your car, one when you’re plugging into speakers at a friend’s house. Apple will sell you a lighting to headphone adapter for $9.

22. Shoot Photos in RAW Format

Halide Featured
The iPhone 11 takes amazing pictures thanks to the new Smart HDR mode. But what if you want to take matters in your own hand? Use an app like Halide to capture images in RAW format, with manual controls. You can set the exposure, focus, brightness, and more. The app also has an amazing Depth mode.

23. Edit Photos To Make Them Even Better

Best iPhone X Apps 7
You’ve got photos from Smart HDR mode or from Halide. They’re pretty good, but you can make them even better using a photo editing app. Snapseed and Darkroom are our favorites. Both are intuitive to use. Darkroom has an amazing collection of filters to choose from.

24. Turn off Attention Awareness Feature

Apple uses the Face ID system to determine if you’re looking at your phone or not. And based on that, it can do different things. For example, it can dim the screen when you’re not paying attention, or automatically silence the phone. But if you don’t want Apple to do these things for you, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Attention Aware Features and turn the feature off.

25. Disable Tap to Wake

As we talked about above, the Tap to Wake feature can be quite useful. But it’s also prone to accidental taps. If you want to disable it, go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Tap to Wake.

Google Meet: Online Video Conferencing App by Google for Multi-Person -check this out

Due to the worldwide spread of Coronavirus (aka COVID-19), working from home becomes a more common practice, having a reliable video conferencing service has become more important than ever.

Having an effective video conferencing service can empower employee flexibility to work remotely from home, with many businesses now having multiple office locations.

Google Meet is a popular video conferencing tool for businesses across industries. Available for Android, iOS, and as a Chrome extension, the platform is a quick way to set up virtual conferences and facilitates group calls.

It is Google's paid video conferencing software, provided as part of G Suite. If you use Gmail with a company email address, you're already a paid G Suite user, meaning you can use Google Meet Apps to create or host online meetings via meet.google.com. If you don't have a GSuite account, you can join the meetings though, if invited.

Google Meet is meant to serve as a business-friendly alternative to Google Hangouts, the company's consumer-focused messaging, voice, and video chat application.

Like Hangouts, Meet also offers group video calls, not just video chat, but in an expanded capacity. While Hangouts is limited to 25 people, Meet supports high-def video meetings with up to 250 participants (for GSuite users on the Gsuite Enterprise Plan).

Google Meet main screen displays a list of your scheduled meetings, along with a button you can click to join or start a meeting. There is also the settings icon which you can click to adjust your camera, microphone, and speaker options.

Unlike Google Hangouts' often dark interface, Meet puts its tools in a bright white toolbar. You can turn off your camera, mute your mic, or share your screen—and you can see each call participant on the right side of your screen.

Much like Hangouts, the video of the person who's currently talking will be shown in the main part of your window, followed by a longer list of participants' screens, names, and emails below. If you want to share your screen, Meet will let you share your full desktop or choose one app to share.

Google Meet also includes other features aimed at making it easy to access these calls while on the go, including dial-in numbers for those who are traveling, links you can join with just a click, and integration with Gmail and Google Calendar.

How to Join Google Meet Meeting Sessions

You can join a video meeting powered by Google Meet through:

  • Web browser and mobile app
  • Google Calendar
  • Meeting link URL or code
  • Dial-in by phone – enabling users with slow or no internet connection to call in
  • Google Meet hardware and Chromebox and Chromebase for meetings

You don't need a Google Account to participate in Meet video meetings via your web browser.

However, if you don't have a Google Account, the meeting organizer, or someone from the organization must grant you access to the meeting.

Note: If you are not signed in to a Google or Gmail account, you cannot join using your mobile device.

Download Google Meet Desktop App

There is currently no special Google Meet Desktop app to download for PC

G Suite users can head to meet.google.com right now to start an online meeting, or schedule Google meet meetings using Google Calendar.

Teams using Skype for Business or meeting systems based on SIP and H.323 standards (e.g. Polycom and Cisco) can seamlessly join a Meet meeting through the Pexip Infinity Platform.

Download Google Meet App for Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad)

With Meet's specially designed iOS and Android apps, you can see your meetings for the day with all the important information from Google Calendar, then join with a tap.

G Suite's Enterprise edition also creates a dial-in phone number for each meeting, so every guest has a great experience – even on the road without wifi or data

Download Google Meet App for Android
Download Google Meet App for iOS (iPhone, iPad)

To set up and host a Google Meet session, you need to have a paid G Suite account, which costs $6 a month at its "basic" level.

Anyone with a standard Google account can join and participate in Google Meet meetings.

Google Meet Pricing Plans

G Suite has a few different membership tiers, and the number of people you can have on a single Google Meet call depend on your subscription.

For more info, check out the Gsuite Pricing Plans and also Google Meet Pricing plans.
